ECC at iGuzzini's International Training Course

iGuzzini Trip Blog #1
21.10.11 - 23.10.11

Despite a cancelled flight, 8 hours waiting at Auckland International Airport, ECC staff members Talia Indyk and Mike Robinson, along with traveling guests Kevin Stewart and Richard Bracebridge, boarded the new Emirates A380 bound for Italy. Two stop-offs in transit in Sydney and Dubai, broke up, yet prolonged the arduous journey to the other side of the world, for all involved. Needless to say, touching down in Rome after 37 hours of traveling time was a welcome relief for both body and mind.

After much needed refreshment time, we all made our way into Rome central, walked around the historic "Forum" area adjacent to the "Colosseum," and wandered further in land to enjoy genuine Italian pizza and pasta at "Papa Joes." An early night was had by all in preparation for another flight across land toward our final destination of Recanati, home of iGuzzini illuminazione for whom we were to spend the next week with.

After an early morning flight, gathering our final traveling guest Paul O'Donnell, and text updates from Talia's partner back in New Zealand on the RWC 2011 final (congrats to our World Champion All Blacks!), we arrived at our place of residence for the next few days, "The Gallery Hotel" in central Recanati, an exquisite hotel overlooking the incredible countryside. We all ventured through the township, soaking in the history and the eclectic architecture, and gathered later with others we were to spend the next week with for introductions and dinner.
